hai para jobseekers semua!

kali ini aku nak share tips tip interview dengan korang semua. 

*ketahuilah bahawa semasa entry ini ditulis, penulis pun masih mencari cari kerja baru. ohho!

selalunya yang menjadi keraguan para graduan adalah

SPEAKING ATAU CAKAP MELAYU SAJA? ROJAK BOLEH?

kena speaking omputih ke?

macam mana kalau english tak power?

tak boleh ke cakap rojak rojak?

well, what I can say, depends on that company and the interviewer. and the important point is that just be yourself! easy. 

based on pengalaman aku interview.

1) company oil and gas yang besar besar memang WAJIB speaking. apatah lagi kalau scope of work tu korang kena deal dengan client dari negara luar. 

2) company oil and gas yang kecik kecik (capacity around 50 ~ 100 people), depend jugak. kalau company tu fully bumiputera, insya Allah, BM aje. hihi

3) company construction/ building yang agak besar (~ 200 people) depend on the interviewer jugak.

p/s: interviewer siap tanya lagi, 

"awak lebih prefer cakap melayu atau speaking?"

wahh, cengang aku 12 saat. tapi pesan aku, better speaking sebab at least korang mencuba kan. berterabur takpe sebab yang paling penting CONFIDENT!

interviewer ni bukan nak tengok sangat korang speaking high level speaking MUET/ IELTS/ bahasa bombastik bagai. tapi CONFIDENT. kalau korang tak boleh nak tunjuk level confident tu, macam mana nak deal dengan client/ vendor tu semua nanti? 

BERAPA LEVEL INTERVIEW? TEST? ASSESSMENT?

korang amatlah bertuah kalau time korang pergi interview tu terus sekali dengan MANAGING DIRECTOR/ DIRECTOR atau seangkatan. itu bermaksud interview tu hanya sekali. time tu memang DIRECTOR/ MANAGING DIRECTOR akan terus nego gaji.

kalau interviewer tu hanyalah HR/ Supervisor, tu baru First level. sebab nanti kalau korang lulus First interviewer. korang akan diinterview (Second interview) oleh MANAGING DIRECTOR/ DIRECTOR atau seangkatan untuk bincang pasal gaji/ increment/ benefit kerja semua tu. 

dah lepas sampai Second interview tu bermaksud korang dah berjaya dahla. -..-

so far, 1 interview dengan company oil & gas yang ada test dengan assessment. tapi unfortunately I tak lepas untuk First interview tu. maklumla baru pertama kali no experience, taktau expected soalan macam mana. jawab kemain lagi hemtam. 

so, sesiapa yang ada experience untuk test/ assesment ni. bolehla share experience korang.

APA YANG KENA BAWAK MASA INTERVIEW?

1) bawak pencil box. isi penuh penuh pen, gunting, pisau, pemadam, pensil, double side tape. why double side tape? 

most of the interviews, korang dikehendaki mengisi borang dan tempek gambar passport. (NO candid!). untuk tampal gambar ni, aku lebih prefer double side tape instead of glue. nanti borang jadi lembik. so, kalau guna double side tape lebih kemas. tapi ikut suka korang lah nak mana mana pun. tu borang korang bukan aku. haha

2) bawak salinan gambar. lebih takpe, jangan kurang.

3) bawak salinan resume. lebih takpe, jangan kurang.

4) bawak semua certificate (ORIGINAL & COPY)

5) Slip gaji.

6) bawak diri & CONFIDENT. ^_^

attire ini amatlah TIDAK DIBENARKAN semasa interview apatah lagi membawa kuda masuk bersama anda.

SOALAN YANG SELALU DITANYA

now, it's time for the questions.

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF

soalan GENERAL/ bocor/ skema mestilah "Tell me about yourself"

soalan ni kira bonuslah untuk korang. korang dah boleh hafal dah siap siap kat rumah seminggu dua. then, boleh cakap dengan confident level yang tinggi sikit. tetapi AWAS!

kalau korang tak berapa power English, diingatkan jangan terlalu lancar sangat introduce diri tu. nanti untuk unexpected soalan yang korang memang tak ready/ tak tahu nak jawab, of course english korang akan tunggang langgang. they might have caught you! nampak sangat menghafal. but, who cares. haha

untuk soalan ni, korang boleh ceritakan sikit kerja korang yang sebelum ni macam mana, SHORT/ LONG TERM GOAL, CAREER OBJECTIVE.

kalau korang terus cakap pasal career objective, automatically korang dah cover soalan untuk "WHAT DO YOU SEE YOURSELF 5/ 10 YEARS FROM NOW.

STRENGTH/ WEAKNESSES

strength tu biasa tapi selalu interviewee akan trap untuk weaknesses.

untuk soalan ni, interviewer nak tengok usaha korang mengimprovekan weaknesses tu. that's it! contoh, korang boleh cakap camni.

"Sometimes I have trouble admitting to people that I'm not understanding something they want me to do or struggling with a certain task. I can be reluctant to ask others for help. This is something that I want to improve on and am taking steps by asking those people around me if I really need their helps."

"My greater weakness that has caused me the greatest difficulty in school/ on the job is used to be delegation. In order to finish up my grouping task on time, I would take it upon myself to my group members' task that could be done by them instead. Once my friend told me that I was doing more works than the others, the good thing is they achieved the good results, but the disadvantages is that they will not learn anything since I did all the work. After that, I reevaluated on what I've done and realized on what my friend said to me."

WHAT DO YOU KNOW  ABOUT OUR COMPANY?

kebanyakan company memang akan tanya soalan ni. so, rajin rajinkan tangan bukak webpage dorang, tengok product apa dorang buat, scope kerja macam mana, client dorang siapa, latest award, event semua tu lah.

untuk soalan soalan berikutnya, aku terus bagi sample jawapan terus okay. contoh saja.

WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU/ WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR US THAT OTHER CANDIDATES CAN'T/ WHY DID YOU APPLY FOR THIS POSITION/ WHY DO YOU WANT THIS JOB/ WHAT DOES THE ROLE INTEREST YOU?

"I sincerely believe I'm the best person for the job. I realize there are many other candidates who have the ability to do this job but I also bring and additional quality that makes me the very best person for this job which is my experience that I gained from the previous company..."

(then, explain la job scope previous kerja korang macam mana)

ARE YOU PLANNING TO CONTINUE YOUR STUDY?

"I plan to continue my education for the rest of my life. In any engineering field, keeping up to date through continuing education is one of the utmost important. Continuing education can include on the job training, courses sponsored by the employee/ company, and courses taken in new technologies as they emerges. I plan to be not only a career employee but the career student as well so that I can be the best engineer I want to be. I can ensure you, however that any education I pursue will not interfere with my job or the company's policies."

WHAT'S YOUR EXPECTED SALARY/ WHAT SALARY RANGE DOES YOU LOOKING FOR?

"I'm more interested in the role itself than the pay. That said, I'd expect to be paid with the appropriate range for this role since it depends on experience. I'll sure your offer will be fair and commensurate with the value I can bring to the company."

"I'm happy about the job offer and I'm very interested in the position. But considering today's high living cost, I'd like to be making around (state how much). Would that be possible?"

ARE YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL FOR WORK?

"I'm more than willing to travel. I understand the importance of going above and beyond the call of duty to satisfy the customer requests. I'm willing to make this commitment to do whatever it takes to develop that long-term relationships with the business or client. It is only through this relationship that loyalty can be maintained and financial gains and growth can occur for both the client and the company."

WHAT OTHER CAREERS HAVE YOU APPLIED FOR/ WHO ELSE HAVE YOU APPLIED TO/ GOT INTERVIEWS WITH?

"Finding the right position is obviously very important to me so I'm being rather thorough in my job search. I've been quite selective but I have identified a number of different jobs and organizations which fit my criteria and my applications for these vacancies have reached varying stages. However, this opportunity with yourselves remains my preferred choices - both because of the specifics of the role in question and because the organization itself is one I feel to be particularly appropriate to me."

so far, itu antara soalan soalan yang selalu ditanya. and I wish all the best luck for all the job seekers sekalian. semoga dapat kerja dan dipermudahkan segala! ^_^
